BREAKING NEWS

Former President's Cup player Bradley Hughes has committed to play in the inaugural 2010 United States Match Play Championship, to be held June 29-July 3 at Pebble Creek Country Club in Taylors, South Carolina, just outside Greenville.  To date, Hughes is the highest-profile player to commit to the event.

In 1994, Hughes, originally from Australia, was named to the President's Cup team in 1994, representing the International team.  A former PGA Tour Player, Hughes also played on the Nationwide Tour, winning the 2004 Wichita Open.  He also is a two-time champion of the prestigious Australian Masters, winning in 1993 and 1998.

All who qualify for match play will be in the money. Purse breakdowns for various number of entrants are as follows:

17th-32nd:   3,000
Total Purse:        $270,000

1st:   $45,000

For the number of entrants between 32 and 127 not listed above, purses and payouts will be adjusted accordingly. In all cases, match play qualifiers will receive a minimum of $2,500.00

All amateurs who qualify for match play will receive a $750 gift certificate from the retail outlet of their choice.
